The United States Military Academy (USMA) is an undergraduate college in West Point, New York that educates and commissions officers for the United States Army.The Academy is a member of the Division I Patriot League in most sports, [1] but its men's ice hockey program competes in the Atlantic Hockey league and its football program competes independent of a league.

The rink served as the home for the Army ice hockey program for 55 years and was the last outdoor venue used for Division I hockey when the program was downgraded in 1973.
The men's ice hockey program at West Point has been in existence since the 1903–04 season. The team played outdoors until 1930 when the Smith Rink opened. [2] The team competed as independent members of NCAA Division I from the inaugural season through the 1960–61 season. [3] In 1961 the program became a founding member of the ECAC. [3]
The 2024–25 Army Black Knights men's ice hockey season will be the 122nd season of play for the program, the 115th at the Division I level, and the 1st in Atlantic Hockey America. The Black Knights will represent the United States Military Academy , play their home games at the Tate Rink and be coached by Brian Riley in his 21st season.
Aviator provides a variety of sports and league play, including basketball, football, gymnastics, ice hockey, ice skating, lacrosse, soccer, and volleyball.
