The Health Sciences Library is part of the Woodruff Health Sciences Center complex built in 1966. It primarily serves graduate students in the Emory School of Medicine, Rollins School of Public Health, and Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing and also supports undergraduate and graduate students in the physical sciences. Rollins donated to various Atlanta-based organizations, including the Winship Cancer Institute; he also helped establish the Rollins School of Public Health in 1990. [16] In 2018, the R. Randall Rollins Charitable Lead Annuity Trust and the O. Wayne Rollins Foundation issued donations to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. [ 17 ]
He attended medical school at the University of Washington, where he became interested in public health while working "after school and on Saturdays" at the Seattle–King County Health Department. [9] After receiving his M.D. in 1961, he completed an internship with the United States Public Health Service hospital at Staten Island in 1961–1962.
