Did the VIN lookup and under the frame inspection recall it said this... "This is a Limited Service Campaign. Please contact your Toyota dealer and make an appointment to have your Tacoma's frame inspected and a corrosion-resistant treatment applied before 10/31/2010." Does anyone know if this Recall is still valid since its past 10/31/2010?
2008 Tacoma 2.7 base model 2wd single cab manual. Climbed underneath yesterday and was looking around because it seemed to be riding a little squishy. Noticed extensive rust and missing metal plus a crack or two in the frame. Went inside to do a little google and found out about the recall that I was unaware of has already expired.

Recalls you will be notified in the mail. Or you can go on toyota owners and run your vin yourself and see if it pops up. TSB’s are technical Service bulletins. Basically these are common known issues a long with a diagnosis and repair procedure for technicians and service advisors.

The new official Toyota part number on the new one is 04002-04104. The number on the cable that was removed had the number 04080 77A302 A02 on a blue label. I don't know if that is right. There is a bar code, but the number makes no sense, XKP.05N.0196.
