I do known one the difference between the two bridges is the MIM & MIA the holes for the six screws don’t line up together. I’m just wondering if they both sound the same. The other option is I have a generic tremolo bridge witch has the MIA spacing for the screws. I can switch out the tremolo block (which I would have to buy).
The Fender Mexican line guitars are awesome and are perfect for the money spent. Diminishing returns in full effect with these. Looks and function are much better in the new Player line. As far as sound, it's definitely subjective. Some people love the Standard series pups for their warmer, fuller sound.
47,004. Yorkshire. Aug 28, 2019. #2. The tremolo blocks on Am Stds since1986 have been tapered. Mexican Standards had skinny little blocks until recently. In the greater scheme of things, they make no difference at all.

I don't think Fender Japan make a Strat they call a Standard, but if they did it would be called a Japanese Standard.

The Highway-1 was made in the USA VS Mexico, has some of the best rolled necks, and I love the jumbo frets on my Fender guitars. I believe that Highway-1’s have Texas Special pickup’s that may be hotter pickups than than that on the Player guitar. The pickups are the only thing that I might of changed on my Highway-1 guitar, had I kept it ...
The 10.5 mm saddle is for the narrow 2 1/16"" mount width and string width tremolo ( MIM Standard). It was also used on the 2006+ Highway 1 that used 2 1/16" string width combined with 2 7/32" mount width. In regards to 2 3/16" measurements, I have not actually seen a specification diagram that uses that measurement.
Google search states that the average annual salary in Mexico is approx 23,300 USD versus approx 3780 USD for the avg annual salary in Indonesia. I imagine the remaining operating costs look somewhat similar as well. Edit: looked at avg manufacturers wages: Indonesia: 2.51 USD. China: 3.67.
Aug 29, 2020. #1. Contrary to what you might have read here, the 'first run' of MiM Stratocasters (late 1996) actually were made with alder bodies. I know this because I have one, and trust me it is a lot heavier than any poplar of hardwood body. My understand of the situation was, there was a shortage of alder in early 1997 so Fender decided ...
Fascinating how the observers who have embraced the new offerings from Japan, then Mexico and Korea, and India and Indonesia and so on are less liable to be bowled over. I admit I was let down by that overseas Epiphone acoustic I bought in 1972, but the worst beat down I ever took on a guitar purchase was an all USA (Harmony) guitar.
