We average around 2000 - 2500hrs life expectancy on 2 stroke engines and haven't yet worn out a 4 stroke engine before upgrading it. Engines like to be used.

Looking around at marina rates for my boat, Beverly Port is around $180/ft. Salem's Hawthorne Cove is around $150/ft. Danversport is $124/ft and Lynn is $112/ft. Smaller boats will have slightly lower rates. I agree $130 is a reasonable rate, which is why I'm trying to find a slip for around that price. I'm not having any luck, though.
The charging of members is not consistent. Some people pay $199/month, others pay $475/month. The down payments to join are also not consistent. Some people pay no money down, others pay $7,000.00. This boat club is poorly run, and all they care about is money. They do not care about their members.

These pieces of shizz are throw away boats in my opinion. If you're buying a new boat, please do as the guy in the attached video does. Look everywhere, be picky and don't be shy about telling the dealer ...

Not too far from me on LI, there is a 57' Viking on a 16 pile lift. I know at least 1 manufacturer makes lifts up to 120,000 lbs. Those big lifts are big dollars too - a 60,000 lb lift installed is close to $70,000. Reply Like. 01-18-2011, 12:29 PM.
We enjoy boating but like to get off of the boat, grab a shower, explore the local area, enjoy dinner and then crash in a nice real bed. The rest of the year we need a boat to go to Sand Dollar Island, Cape Lookout and Shackleford and fit in a 10,000 lift in Morehead City. Thanks everyone for your advice.
