    Posted 6 years ago, 17 users are following. Hi, I’m 39 male, was diagnosed with acute uncomplicated sigmoid diverticulitis on a CT scan 12 days ago. Pain has been ongoing on and off for 2 weeks. I was given 5 days of flagyl and keflex. I’m a little overweight (not much atall really) and fairly active with sports and exercise 2-4 days a week.

    James couldn't have put it better. All I will add is to say that after my last big flare in August, it took about 10 months instead of the usual 4 - 6 weeks. During that time I had a couple of minor flares. I still get the odd twinge if I eat the wrong thing but I figure now is as "normal" as it's going to get.

    Hello,I've experienced a flare up in February and it last for me 2 1/2 weeks. I struggled to get my body normal in the process because I was in pain and couldn't eat then on liquid diet I lost weight. Everyone is different so it all depends. I feel your pain and this is a distressing condition for al of us.
