In 1935, Kamlapat and his family moved from Kanpur residence to a newly constructed 20-acre bungalow near the Ganges called Ganga Kutir (Ganga Cottage). He also purchased a second property from an Englishman, which was named Kamla Retreat. [10] Kamlapat died in 1937 and was survived by his sons – Padampat, Kailashpat and Lakshmipat. [6]
He died on 5 September 2013, succumbing to age-related illnesses at the age of 96, survived by his wife and the two younger sons; [1] Navin Hiranandani having preceded him in death. His directorial debut movie was Honey Bee starring Asif Ali which was a hit. [1] He also played his acting debut as Solomon main villain in the movie Under World.

[8] [9] He was married to Sneh Lata, who died in August 2019. [10] Chautala had two sons and three daughters, including Abhay Singh Chautala and Ajay Singh Chautala. [11]
