Aiken Regional Medical Centers opened its doors in 1917 as the Aiken Hospital and Relief Society. Except for several years in the early 1920s, the hospital has provided quality healthcare to the residents of Aiken and surrounding communities. Today, it is a 245-bed acute care facility.

Aiken County (/ ˈ eɪ k ən /) is a county in the U.S. state of South Carolina. As of the 2020 census, its population was 168,808. [1] Its county seat and largest community is Aiken. [2] Aiken County is a part of the Augusta-Richmond County, GA-SC Metropolitan Statistical Area.
The campus is located on 453 acres (183 ha) in the Aiken area, 18 miles (29 km) from Augusta, Georgia, and 60 miles from Columbia, South Carolina. [4]As of 2020 portions of the campus are in the Aiken city limits, though the majority is outside of the Aiken city limits in an unincorporated area.
