The cabriole leg returned in England in Queen Anne Style chairs between 1712 and 1760. [7] These chairs featured a back with hoop design, a vase-shaped splat, and a bun or pad foot. Another English design from the period follows Chinese style, with a flat cresting and vertical back edges.
The "Boston chair" became one of the best-known examples of a William and Mary style chair made in America. Davenport & Co. made the twin dining tables, 50 side chairs, 6 armchairs and 3 serving tables for the room. Many of the side chairs, now upholstered in ivory, are still in use. A. H. Davenport and Company was a late 19th-century, early 20th-century American furniture manufacturer, cabinetmaker, and interior decoration firm.
