Thiruvallam Sree Parasurama Swami Temple is one of the most ancient temples of South India. It is situated on the banks of Karamana River near Thiruvallam, Thiruvananthapuram. It is the only temple in Kerala that is dedicated to Lord Parasurama. [1] and counts among the 108 Abhimana Kshethrams of Vaishnavate tradition.

The temple shows evidence of various reconstructions and expansions. The name of the temple is mentioned as Parasurameswara Temple in the inscriptions. These inscriptions do not refer to the original builders of the temple. But they register the gifts made to the temple like land, money and cows for the conduct of daily worship in the temple.
The temple has many inscriptions from the Chola period. [6] The temple has a five-tiered gateway tower facing south and all the shrines of the temple are enclosed in concentric rectangular granite walls. The temple occupies an area of around 4 acres (1.6 ha). The central shrine houses the image of Vilwanatheswarar in the form of Lingam facing east.
