Butler County is a county in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.As of the 2020 census, the population was 193,763. [2] Its county seat is Butler. [3] Butler County was created on March 12, 1800, from part of Allegheny County and named in honor of General Richard Butler, a hero of the American Revolution.
Pennsylvania Route 68 forms the northern edge of the Meridian CDP, leading east 4 miles (6 km) to downtown Butler and southwest 8 miles (13 km) to Evans City. According to the United States Census Bureau , the CDP has a total area of 2.8 square miles (7.3 km 2 ), of which 0.004 square miles (0.01 km 2 ), or 0.16%, is water.
