Broadway Commercial Historic District is a national historic district located at Cape Girardeau, Cape Girardeau County, Missouri.The district encompasses 35 contributing buildings and 1 contributing structure in a predominantly commercial section of Cape Girardeau.
After this interchange, Route 141 has an at-grade intersection with a plaza containing a Costco and a Walmart Supercenter. [2] Past the intersection, Route 141 serves as a border between Missouri River Township and Ballwin. The highway continues to mainly serve suburban areas. The road weaves northeast and enters Town and Country.
As the Supercenter proved to be a much more profitable experiment, Walmart renamed the stores "Wal-Mart's Hypermart USA" in April 1990, and eventually began either converting them to Supercenter operations or closing them. As of 2023, two of the former Hypermart USA locations still operate as Walmarts while the other two have been demolished.

The mall was built in 1981 by a partnership between St. Louis-based May Centers, Inc., and Cape Girardeau-based Drury Development Corp., developer of the Drury Hotel Chain, [2] [3] It featured Famous-Barr (later Macy's) and JCPenney as its anchor stores, with original tenants including Hallmark Cards, Foot Locker, Kay-Bee Toys, Claire's, Zales Jewelers, GNC, Waldenbooks, and Lerner New York.
