Green Tree Mall is a shopping mall located in Clarksville, Indiana, United States. The mall is located off of I-65 about four miles (6 km) north of downtown Louisville. It has a total area of 795,382 square feet (73,893 m 2). [3] It was named for a large boundary tree of considerable age that once stood at the location. [4]
Clarksville was established during the California gold rush and at one point had over a thousand residents and several businesses. By 1931 only twenty residents remained. [3] Little remains today, but the Clarksville Heritage Society preserves the town's history. [4] A post office operated at Clarksville from 1855 to 1924 and from 1927 to 1934. [2]
