Guy's Hospital is an NHS hospital founded by philanthropist Thomas Guy in 1721, located in the borough of Southwark in central London. It is part of Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and one of the institutions that comprise the King's Health Partners , an academic health science centre .
Having been built in 1903 as St. Joseph's Parochial School, that building was renamed Wheatley-Provident Hospital and repurposed as Kansas City's first hospital for Black people. The origins of University Health Truman Medical Center began in 1870 with the construction of City Hospital at 22nd Street and McCoy Avenue (now Kenwood Avenue) in Kansas City. [4] Voters approved a bond issue in 1903 to fund the construction of a new larger General Hospital because the 175-bed hospital was deemed insufficient for the growing city.
