Muskegon (/ m ə ˈ s k iː ɡ ən / mə-SKEE-gən) is a city in and the county seat of Muskegon County, Michigan, United States. [7] Situated around a harbor of Lake Michigan, Muskegon is known for fishing, sailing regattas, and boating. It is the most populous city along Lake Michigan's eastern shore.
The township is in central Muskegon County and is bordered to the southwest by the city of Muskegon and to the west by the city of North Muskegon. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 23.8 square miles (62 km 2), of which 23.5 square miles (61 km 2) are land and 0.4 square miles (1.0 km 2), or 1.54%, are water. Blue Lake Township is a civil township of Muskegon County in the U.S. state of Michigan.As of the 2020 census, the township population was 2,416. [2] One of the largest landowners in the township is the Pathway to Adventure Council of the Boy Scouts of America, which owns Owasippe Scout Reservation.
