Connecticut's 4th congressional district is a congressional district in the U.S. state of Connecticut.Located in the southwestern part of the state, the district is largely suburban and extends from Bridgeport, the largest city in the state, to Greenwich – an area largely coextensive with the Connecticut side of the New York metropolitan area.
The 3rd district envelops the greater part of New Haven County, surrounding the city of New Haven, the district's population center, regional hub of southern Connecticut, and home to Yale University. The district is the most diverse region of Connecticut, with many Irish, Italian, Polish, Jewish, Greek, Asian, and African-American communities.
James Andrew Himes (born July 5, 1966) is an American businessman and politician serving as the U.S. representative for Connecticut's 4th congressional district since 2009. Himes is a member of the Democratic Party .
