Lingua Franca Nova (or Elefen) is an auxiliary constructed language originally created by C. George Boeree of Shippensburg University, Pennsylvania. Its vocabulary is based on the Romance languages French, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, and Catalan. The grammar is highly reduced and similar to the Romance creoles.
Boeree was also the inventor of the auxiliary language Lingua Franca Nova (ISO 639-3: lfn), which first appeared in 1998 on the Internet. It has its own Wikipedia (lfnwiki), [9] and books have been translated into it. He was the coeditor of the Disionario de Lingua Franca Nova ("Lingua Franca Nova Dictionary"). [10]
