It is located in the south of the autonomous community of Catalonia, Spain between the pre-coastal mountain range (Serralada Pre-litoral) and the Mediterranean Sea.
Penedès is one of the eight regions defined by the Regional Plan of Catalonia. Located in south of Catalonia, it includes the comarques from historical Penedès region (Alt Penedès, Baix Penedès and Garraf), along with the southern municipalities of Anoia. [1] It had 497.764 inhabitants as of 2022. [2]
