Between 1993 and 2001 he was a full time professor in Hacettepe University, Mathematics Department, Ankara. [3] Starting from 2001 he became a full time professor in Koç University. He has been an active researcher, having published more than 70 scientific manuscripts with more than 2000 citations.
The scientist wrote hundreds of scientific articles in Uzbek and English during the 17 years of his work at Radio Liberty. He also learned the German language while working in Germany. After taking a break from Radio Liberty, he worked at Marmara University in 1985–1988.
