Carroll County is a county in the West Central region of the State of Georgia. As of the 2020 census, its population was 119,148. [2] [1] Its county seat is the city of Carrollton. [3] Carroll County is included in the Atlanta–Sandy Springs–Roswell metropolitan statistical area and is also adjacent to Alabama on its western border.

Carrollton is a city in and the county seat of Carroll County, Georgia, United States. [4] It is within western Georgia , about 45 miles (72 km) west of Atlanta near the Alabama state line, and is included in the Atlanta metropolitan area .
The Carroll County Courthouse in Carrollton, Georgia was built in 1928. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. [1] It is located at Newnan and Dixie Streets in Carrollton. It was designed by architect William J.J. Chase and was built by the Carr Construction Co. [2]
Bowdon is located near the Georgia-Alabama state line at 33° 32′ 22″ N, 85° 15′ 21″ W (33.539444 N, -85.255833 W). [10] The main highways through the city are Georgia State Routes 100 and 166. GA-100 runs through the city from north to south, leading north 16 mi (26 km) to Tallapoosa and south 11 mi (18 km) to Ephesus.

Whitesburg is located at (33.493434, -84.913492 [8]Whitesburg is located along the Chattahoochee River in southeastern Carroll County. U.S. Route 27 Alternate and Georgia State Route 5 are the main routes through the town. U.S. Route 27 Alternate runs from northwest to southeast through the town, leading northwest 12 mi (19 km) to Carrollton, the county seat, and southeast 11 mi (18 km) to Newnan.
