Groundbreaking on Section 1 of the ORX project was in June 2022. Section 1 focuses on the Kentucky approaches with improvements in Henderson and an extension of I-69 from KY 425 to US 60 of over six miles (9.7 km) including new interchanges with US 41 and US 60 and a reconstructed KY 351 interchange.
In Danville, US 150 and KY 52 intersect US 127 Byp./US 150 Byp. (Danville Bypass). As both routes approach downtown, KY 34 and later US 127 briefly join in. After leaving downtown, KY 52 leaves US 150. After that, US 150 then enters onto a four-lane divided highway. This configuration is a continuation of the Danville Bypass.
Interstate 69 (I-69) in the U.S. state of Kentucky is a 148.1-mile-long (238.3 km) Interstate Highway running from the Tennessee state line in the southwest at Fulton to Henderson in the northeast, just south of the Ohio River.
In most of the cities it traverses in Kentucky, it is still referred to as "Dixie Highway" or "Dixie Avenue". The western route generally follows the present-day route of US 150, Indiana SR 37, and Indiana SR 67 from Louisville to Indianapolis. From Nashville to Indianapolis, the route parallels Interstate 65.
The Interstate then runs east past Danville at the Illinois–Indiana state line. U.S. Route 150 (US 150) parallels I-74 in Illinois for its entire length, save the last few miles on the eastern end (in Danville, when US 150 turns south on Illinois Route 1 (IL 1)), where it parallels US 136 .
