Hilti Corporation (Hilti Aktiengesellschaft or Hilti AG, also known as Hilti Group) is a Liechtensteiner multinational company that develops, manufactures, and markets products for the construction, building maintenance, energy and manufacturing industries, mainly to the professional end-user.
The company was founded by Toni Hilti in 1935 as Scana Konservenfabrik AG and operates from its headquarters in Schaan, the most populous town of Liechtenstein. Two of Toni Hilti's brothers, Eugen and Martin Hilti, would later found the power tool maker Hilti in 1941.

Wohlwend was born 12 January 1973 in Chur as the son of Johann Wohlwend and Margrith Risch as one of five children. He attended secondary school in Eschen.He conducted an apprenticeship as a machine draftsman at Hilti in Schaan from 1989 to 1993, and from 1994 to 2000 he worked at as a project manager at Hofag AG in Schaan.
