Lillian Barbara Board, MBE (13 December 1948 – 26 December 1970) was a British athlete. She won the silver medal in the 400 metres at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City, and two gold medals at the 1969 European Championships in Athletics in Athens.
Her fame increased markedly when in 1965 she was appointed captain of the San Francisco Bay Bombers. She appeared on 19 consecutive all-star teams in that sport, and was the highest-paid female athlete in the 1960s [2] and 1970s. Joan usually skated as the distaff heroine of the sport, no matter what team she appeared with.

Representing the Republic of China, she ran in the 1960 and 1964 Olympics, then won the bronze medal in the women's 80-meter hurdles in the 1968 Summer Olympics and finished 7th in the 100 metre final. In 1969, she broke three world records. In 1970, she broke or tied five world records, accomplishing 3 in the space of just one week.
Befitting her many records and achievements in both national and international competition, particularly in the late 1960's, Meyer was the recipient of many honors. In 1968, she won the James E. Sullivan Award, given to the greatest athlete of the year. In 1969, she was named Associated Press Athlete of the Year.

Tamara Natanovna Press [nb 1] (10 May 1937 – 26 April 2021) [1] was a Soviet athlete who dominated the shot put and discus throw in the early 1960s. She won three gold medals and one silver medal at the 1960 and 1964 Olympics and three European titles in 1958–1962.
