The ferry district took over operation of the West Seattle/Downtown Seattle route from King County on April 27, 2008. [13] King County Water Taxi at Seattle's Pier 50 in 2010. In April 2009, the West Seattle route was renamed from the Elliott Bay Water Taxi to the King County Water Taxi. [14]
