On June 13, 2003, a man was seriously injured in a 30-foot (9.1 m) fall from the Scenic Skyway chairlift ride at Knoebels Amusement Park. The man was a member of a group home for mentally disabled people and was riding alone. He was airlifted to a local hospital and recovered.
.Prestonsburg Mayor Rick Hughes said in a Facebook post that fire, emergency officials and police responded quickly and the hospital staff “did a great job taking care” of the patients.

Parkersburg High School–Washington Avenue Historic District, is a national historic district located at Parkersburg, Wood County, West Virginia. The Parkersburg High School was built in 1917 north of the Avery Street Historic District in the Jacobethan Revival style. It was designed by Ohio architect Frank Packard (1866-1923). [1] [2]
