Old Henry had its world premiere out of competition at the Venice Film Festival on September 7, 2021. [8] It was released in around 30 theaters in the United States on October 1, 2021. In New York, Steve Buscemi hosted a Q&A session with Nelson at the Quad Cinema on its opening day. On October 8, the film was released through video on demand. [9]
