In Version 9 "Create search..." from the context menu of a search form allows adding a URL shortcut more conveniently. In other words, right-click on a search box, click "Create search" and follow the instructions. Choose an easy to remember keyword for the Wikipedia search, such as wp. The process should now be complete.
(If your browser has relative URL entry, simply prefix the shortcut with ./ instead of having to edit the existing URL.) Shortcuts are presented in all capital letters ; however, the search box is case-insensitive. For example, in the search box, you can type wp:r, instead of WP:R.
