Merville, officially Barangay Merville, is a barangay in Parañaque. It is one of Parañaque's 16 barangays and is part of the city's 2nd district . Featuring a namesake gated residential community, it was created on April 3, 1978 as a barangay out of barangay La Huerta under Presidential Decree No. 1325.
The districts consists of the eastern Parañaque barangays of BF Homes, Don Bosco, Marcelo Green, Merville, Moonwalk, San Antonio, San Martin de Porres and Sun Valley. [4] It is currently represented in the 19th Congress by Gustavo Tambunting of the National Unity Party (NUP). [5] The Parañaque City Hall is located in this district.

Parañaque was initially represented as part of the at-large district of the province of Manila in the Malolos Congress from 1898 to 1899. The then-town was later incorporated to the province of Rizal, established in 1901, and was represented as part of the first district of Rizal from 1907 to 1941 and from 1945 to 1972.
The second city council district is composed of the city's eastern barangays, namely BF Homes, Don Bosco, Marcelo Green, Merville, Moonwalk, San Antonio, San Martin de Porres, and Sun Valley. The last election saw the administration coalition win a supermajority in the district, winning seven out of eight seats.
