The Lizard (Dr. Curtis "Curt" Connors) is a character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics.Created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, he first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #6 (November 1963) as an enemy of the superhero Spider-Man.

Spider-Man meets Dr Curtis Connor's family. He is pulled underwater by the Lizard, but escapes. In Dr Connor's lab, Spider-Man finds out about the doctor's research on swamp fever and mixes an antidote for reptilian mutation. He fights the Lizard in a ruined Spanish fort and turns him back into Dr Connors.
