Kennedy Grove Regional Recreation Area (KGRRA), also known simply as Kennedy Grove, is located in Richmond, Contra Costa County, California at the base of San Pablo Dam. Created in 1967, it contains a three-mile hiking trail with an elevation of 760 feet (230 m).
Kennedy Mountain is an 11,433-foot-elevation (3,485 meter) summit located in Fresno County, California, United States. It is situated in Kings Canyon National Park , on Monarch Divide which is west of the crest of the Sierra Nevada mountain range.
The peak is situated between Kennedy Canyon and Soda Canyon, approximately three miles south of Leavitt Peak, and 0.8 mile north of line parent Molo Mountain. Topographic relief is significant as the summit rises over 2,900 feet (880 meters) above Kennedy Lake in one mile.
The other business is Grumpy Bears Retreat. The Kennedy Meadows Campground [4] is 3 miles to the north. Twenty minutes to the west in the beginning of the “high country” are Fish Creek and Troy Meadows Campgrounds. [5] [6] This area is not to be confused with the other Kennedy Meadows in the Sonora Pass region of central California.
The CDP is located to the south-east of the Kennedy Meadows Campground. The 2020 United States census reported Kennedy Meadows's population of permanent residents at 58, up from 28 at the 2010 census. [3] The census definition of the area may not precisely correspond to local understanding of the area with the same name.
Many other trails criss-cross the Emigrant Wilderness, from Leavitt Meadow on the East side, Kennedy Meadow on the West side, and other trailheads. Highlights include cliffs in the Granite Dome area and lakes such as Emigrant Lake, Huckleberry Lake, and Lake Lertora. Hiking June 2009
The park, like many East Bay Regional Parks, has numerous trails. One trail, the East Shore Trail, leads from the Arroyo Road staging area to a ridge above Del Valle, and then follows the lake for several miles toward the boat launch. The Sailor Camp Trail leads to the Ohlone Wilderness Trail, and an unnamed trail leads to Mendenhall Road.
