The Indian Financial System Code (IFS Code or IFSC) is an alphanumeric code that facilitates electronic funds transfer in India. A code uniquely identifies each bank branch participating in the three main Payment and settlement systems in India: the National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT), Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) and Immediate Payment Service (IMPS) systems.
The first 2 or 3 digits indicate the financial institution and the other 3 or 4 digits are the branch codes assigned by the institution. In China, the CNAPS code or CNAPS bank code is a code used to uniquely identifies bank accounts for domestic payments in mainland China. The CNAPS code is assigned to all banks in China, including foreign banks.
