Chowan University (/ tʃ oʊ ˈ w ɒ n /) [2] is a private Christian university in Murfreesboro, North Carolina. The university offers associate , bachelor's , and master's degrees in 70 academic disciplines and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools .

Whalley is also the head coach at Chowan University in North Carolina, where he is the school's all-time wins leader and one of the most successful coaches in the history of NCAA Division II. In 11 seasons as a college head coach since 2005, Whalley has amassed a 127-68-25 record.
