Candace Lee Klaasen (born August 26, 1947), better known as Candy Moore, is an American actress from Maplewood, New Jersey. [1] Moore attended UCLA School of Theatre Arts. Moore began her career appearing on television series such as Leave It to Beaver [ 2 ] and Letter to Loretta .
The woman featured on the album's front cover was Nataliya Medvedeva, a Russian-born model, singer, writer, and journalist. [6] Unlike many of the Cars' album covers, the cover for The Cars was designed by the record company, rather than drummer Robinson. [7]
The band's second album, Candy-O, was released in June 1979 and eclipsed the success of The Cars, peaking at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 album chart, 15 spots higher than the debut album. Featuring a cover created by the famed Playboy artist Alberto Vargas, the album featured the band's first top-20 single "Let's Go".
"Candy-O" was first released on the album of the same name in 1979, segued into by the preceding song on the album, "Shoo Be Doo." [5] The song was released as the B-side to the single "Double Life," as well as "Let's Go" in France and Brazil. It was included on compilation albums such as Just What I Needed: The Cars Anthology and The Essentials.
