Baker Creek State Park is located adjacent to Lake Thurmond, near the town of McCormick in the county of McCormick, South Carolina. The park sits on land leased in 1967 from the US Army Corps of Engineers. [1] Amenities in the park include two campgrounds, a lakefront pavilion, boat ramps for access to the lake and picnic shelters.
A boat ramp on allows for lake access with docks available to overnight visitors. Canoes, kayaks, rods and reels are available for rent at the park office. [2] In addition to tent and RV camping, guests can stay overnight in rooms at the lodge or can rent one of the one or two bedroom cabins located at the park.
Goodale State Park is a South Carolina state park located just outside Camden, SC.In addition to a 140-acre (0.57 km 2) lake, that is actually a Civil War era mill pond, this park also has canoe access to Pine Tree Creek.
In 1935 approximately 2,860 acres (11.6 km 2) of land was donated to the state of South Carolina by Pickens County and the city of Greenville. [11] [12] The park was created in the 1930s, first by two companies of World War I veterans employed by the Civilian Conservation Corps. [1]
