The Atlanta Beltline is 22-mile long multi-use corridor on a former railway corridor which encircles the core of Atlanta, Georgia.The Atlanta Beltline is designed to reconnect neighborhoods and communities historically divided and marginalized by infrastructure, improve transportation, add green space, promote redevelopment, create and preserve affordable housing, and showcase arts and culture.
The plan was a portion of the extensive BeltLine project to construct a ring of parks, trails, and transit surrounding the core of Atlanta. As proposed, Westside Reservoir Park was nearly twice the size of Atlanta's premiere greenspace, Piedmont Park. Acquisition by the city was completed on June 30, 2006. [1]
However, "Westside" meaning other areas in the west side of Atlanta, or the entire west side (southwest Atlanta, northwest Atlanta), is used by the BeltLine [4] and by Invest Atlanta, the City of Atlanta Economic Development Authority. The southwestern boundary was Whitehall Street to the Central of Georgia Railroad, and from there along the railroad to a point just south of the BeltLine. From there, the boundary ran due west to a prolongation of Holderness Street south of the BeltLine, and from there southwest to the junction of Campbellton and Utoy roads.

In July 2012, there was a referendum on a 1-cent sales tax to fund traffic and road improvements. the tax would have funded several streetcar routes along portions of the BeltLine trail and connections onto MARTA stations and with the Downtown Loop streetcar. However, the vote failed by a wide margin.
Given are the years of the first and last official maps the routes appear on (some earlier maps, and a few later ones that are not on the GDOT site, are available here, including in annual reports). These are not always the exact years the routes were created or eliminated. Note that the 1921 map is actually the one in the 1923-24 report.
