I don't care anything about any hunting shows and don't watch them at all. I also don't care about any TV or Movie personality's politics. Years ago I hunted bear with Jim Shockey and had a great hunt. As a guide, he was knowledgeable about the area we hunted, he hunted hard and provided better than I expected in the way of accommodations and food.
sure. Ive experimented with primers. Winchester W209, Win777, CCI 209m Shotshell primers. I had got excellent groups with the first 2 primers listed, the cci's however turned a 3 shot touching group into a massive 4 inch 3 shot group.
Steve,I haven't hunted with Jim because I'm a BC Resident and don't need a guide, but I know his territory and there are plenty of bears including some bucketheads.Jim's outfit is first class I hear, and I think you'll enjoy the spot and stalk hunting(no baiting allowed in BC).Bring good binos, you'll be looking at a lot of bears, all of BC is ...

I am going on my first muzzle loader hunt next weekend. I shot a Thompson Encore today for the first time. I had it loaded with 150 Grains of of Jim Shockey Gold and 250 Grain Powerbelts. The recoil was punishing and I am thinking of dropping back to 100 grains of powder. Can some of you experienced muzzle loaders give me your thoughts. Thanks
Just saw Jim's X post and it showed his last hunting journal from the Yukon this year and it described her as having stage 4 lung, liver and kidney cancer. Sounds not long for this mortal existence. I feel terrible for the Shockey family.
I downloaded the audiobook from my library app when it popped up on the list of suggestions. I quite enjoyed it! It did not have a whole lot of what I expected from Jim Shockey and the title. But, it was an enjoyable read/listen! I think the author did a pretty darn good job for his first non-fiction novel.
I will admit right up front that Im not a Shockey fan. I know a lot about him, but thats got nothing to do with this. Thoughts on this?? Ive been in the business for 35 years and my question to Shockey would be how many outfitters took outside jobs to keep things rolling?? My wife and I bo...
