West County Center is a shopping mall located in Des Peres, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis. The original mall was built in 1969. [ 2 ] The original mall closed in 2001, and a new mall on the site opened in 2002.

People of European descent began settling in Des Peres in the 1800s. By 1850, there were 75,000 people living in St. Louis. Des Peres was mainly settled by German immigrants and southerners from Virginia and the Carolinas who were drawn to the area by the farmland sold off by the United States government in 80-to-160-acre (32 to 65 ha) tracts. It was the second mall in the area to have an Apple Store (and formerly the area's only Apple mini store), hosts the area's only Urban Outfitters, and along with West County Center is seen as a more upscale shopping mall. On October 8, 2002, The Cheesecake Factory opened at the mall, becoming the area's first location. [6]

Crestwood Court (formerly known as Westfield Shoppingtown Crestwood and Crestwood Plaza) was a shopping mall in Crestwood, Missouri.Opened in 1957, it was the first major mall in the St. Louis area, and one of the first to have more than one department store.
