Rafael Márquez Álvarez (Spanish: [rafaˈel ˈmaɾkes] ⓘ; born 13 February 1979) is a Mexican football coach and former player who played as a defender.He is currently the assistant coach of the Mexico national team.
The son of Mexican footballer Rafa Márquez, he was born in France, while his father was playing for Monaco. [1] He began his youth career in Mexico with Pumas UNAM. [2] In 2019, he joined the youth system of Atlas. [3] At the beginning of 2023, he joined the youth system of Necaxa. [4]
