Haradanahalli Doddegowda Deve Gowda (pronunciation ⓘ; born 18 May 1933) [3] is an Indian politician who served as the 11th prime minister of India from 1996 to 1997. [ 4 ] [ 5 ] He previously served as the 14th Chief Minister of Karnataka from 1994 to 1996 and as a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha .
However, it was his political rival H.D. Deve Gowda, then the Chief Minister of Karnataka, who later went on to become the Prime Minister of India.
