Sir Nasser David Khalili KCSS (Persian: ناصر داوود خلیلی, born 18 December 1945) is a British scholar, collector, and philanthropist based in London. Born in Iran and educated at Queens College, City University of New York and the School of Oriental and African Studies in London, he is a naturalised British citizen.
He was the son of John Robert Daniel-Tyssen FSA (1805–1882) of Brighton, son of William George Daniel-Tyssen whose original surname was Daniel, and his wife Harriet Caroline Hopkinson, daughter of Charles Hopkinson of Cadogan Place. The collector William Tyssen-Amherst, 1st Baron Amherst of Hackney was his first cousin. [3]
