Patricia Era Bath (November 4, 1942 – May 30, 2019) was an American ophthalmologist and humanitarian. She became the first female member of the Jules Stein Eye Institute, the first woman to lead a post-graduate training program in ophthalmology, and the first woman elected to the honorary staff of the UCLA Medical Center.
She is currently the Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology and Director of the Stein Eye Institute at University of California, Los Angeles. [1] [2] During her tenure at UCLA, Coleman was the first director of the Hoskins Center for Quality Eye Care and was involved in the development of the IRIS (Intelligent Research in Sight) Registry.
