Megumi Fushiguro, a student from Tokyo Metropolitan Magic Technical College, is tasked with searching for a "Cursed Object": the finger of Ryomen Sukuna, a powerful supernatural monster known as a "Curse". Megumi tracks Yuji down, having sensed the finger's energy from him, before realizing Yuji's friends have the finger.

Sukuna takes over Yuji's body, tearing off a finger and forcing Megumi to swallow it, thus leaving Yuji's body and incarnating into Megumi's. Sukuna kills Yorozu—and therefore Tsumiki—weakening Megumi's resolve so that his soul will neglect to fight Sukuna's possession. The main group frees Gojo.

On the day of his grandfather's death, Yuji is approached by first-year Jujutsu Sorcerer Megumi Fushiguro, who inquires about one of Sukuna's fingers that the occult club illicitly obtained. He comes to Megumi's rescue when a swarm of Cursed Spirits attack the school, attracted by the finger. Yuji ingests the finger and becomes Sukuna's host.
Mahoraga knocks him out. Sukuna saves Haruta as he recognizes the ritual; Megumi will be in a death-like state until Mahoraga is either defeated or kills him and Haruta. Intending to use Megumi for his future plans, Sukuna faces the shikigami himself to save him. The two proceed in a destructive battle that further devastates Shibuya.
