Donald Ball Sr. (July 27, 1936 – March 23, 2018) was an American philanthropist and businessman, who founded the housebuilding company Ball Homes in 1959. He served in the Kentucky House of Representatives from 1964 to 1969, he was also a member of the National Commission on Severely Distressed Public Housing, and became known for his charitable work.

Jordan Arterburn (1808–1875) and Tarlton Arterburn (1810–1883) were brothers and interstate slave traders of the 19th-century United States. They typically bought enslaved people in their home state of Kentucky in the upper south, and then moved them to Mississippi in the lower south, where there was a constant demand for enslaved laborers on the plantations of King Cotton.
Lexington Cemetery is a private, non-profit 170-acre (69 ha) rural cemetery and arboretum located at 833 W. Main Street, Lexington, Kentucky.. The Lexington Cemetery was established in 1848 as a place of beauty and a public cemetery, in part to deal with burials from the cholera epidemic in the area.
The burial ground also contains a small chapel that was built around 1867 and is thought to have been designed by notable Lexington architect John McMurtry. The small Carpenter Gothic chapel later became a sexton's cottage. In 1976, the burying ground and former chapel were added to the National Register of Historic Places. [1] [2]
