Waspada ( Aware) is an Indonesian daily newspaper published in Medan, North Sumatra by PT Penerbitan Harian Waspada. Having first published on 11 January 1947, it is the third oldest continuously published newspaper in Indonesia, only behind Kedaulatan Rakyat of Yogyakarta and Mimbar Umum of Medan. It is one of the largest newspapers in the city.
Battle. On 13 October 1945, one of the Dutch officials following the British to the city centre stole a teenage boy's red-and-white (the flag of Indonesia 's colours) badge just outside the Medan Hotel, located at Bali Road, and trampled on it. This sparked violent clashes, which turned into a battle.

She was launched in 1977, and was in service with the Royal Brunei Navy until 2011, when she was sold to the Indonesian Navy. She is currently active in Indonesia service as KRI Salawaku.
