The ITV television network of the United Kingdom is divided into a number of geographical regions. Since 2002, all regions share the same programming except for regional news, weather, advertising and some local political content. Before then, the regions were independent stations, each with its own schedule and branding.
Tonight (often referred to as The Tonight Programme and formerly known as Tonight with Trevor McDonald) is a British current affairs programme, produced by ITV Studios (formerly Granada Television) and ITN for the ITV network, replacing the long-running investigative series World in Action in 1999.
ITV show the American animated Christmas special Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, narrated by Burl Ives. The episode of Doctor Who broadcast that day on BBC1, "The Feast of Steven", is a largely self-contained comedic one which concludes with the Doctor breaking the fourth wall to wish viewers a happy Christmas.

Tonight is a British current affairs television programme, presented by Cliff Michelmore, that was broadcast on BBC live on weekday evenings from 18 February 1957 to 18 June 1965. The producers were the future Controller of BBC1 Donald Baverstock and the future Director-General of the BBC Alasdair Milne .
