Cad Bane was created to serve as a recurring antagonist in The Clone Wars.Writers Dave Filoni and Henry Gilroy originally planned to adapt the bounty hunter Durge, who was introduced in the 2003 Clone Wars micro-series, as a human character but Star Wars creator George Lucas instead suggested the creation of an entirely new bounty hunter with a Western design.
Several supporting characters also appear in the series, including Fett's allies such as 8D8, Krrsantan, Garsa Fwip, Drash, and Skad. The main villains of the series are the Pyke Syndicate, who are a group of aliens of the Pyke species that run spice throughout the galaxy, and bounty hunter Cad Bane, an ally of the Pykes.
The character Krrsantan, a Wookiee bounty hunter introduced in Marvel Comics' Star Wars comic books, also appears in the series, [53] portrayed by Carey Jones, [14] while Corey Burton reprises his role as the voice of Cad Bane from the animated series The Clone Wars and The Bad Batch for the character's live-action debut.
