POSB Bank, often known as POSB, is a Singaporean bank offering consumer banking services and is the oldest local bank in continuous operation in Singapore. [1] Established on 1 January 1877 as the Post Office Savings Bank (Chinese: 郵政儲蓄銀行; pinyin: Yóuzhèngchǔxù Yínháng), [2] it currently operates as part of DBS Bank after being acquired on 16 November 1998.
On 15 April 2010, DBS Bank launched digibank to both DBS and POSB customers. It allows customers to view their banking and credit card accounts, transfer funds and pay bills via their mobile phones. Customers using digibank will be protected by DBS Bank's 'money-safe' guarantee.
NETS EFTPOS is a nationwide infrastructure that enables DBS, HSBC, Maybank, OCBC, POSB, UOB and Standard Chartered Bank customers to make purchases at points-of-sale using their ATM cards. The NETS EFTPOS service is available at more than 130,000 acceptance points throughout Singapore.
