Buckcherry's first album Buckcherry was DreamWorks' first album to go gold. In 2005, lead vocalist Josh Todd and lead guitarist Keith Nelson reformed Buckcherry with a new lineup and released a new album in 2006, 15. It contained Buckcherry's biggest crossover hits to date, "Crazy Bitch", and their first Billboard Hot 100 top ten hit, "Sorry".
"Lit Up" is the debut single by American hard rock band Buckcherry, taken from their self-titled debut album. It was the band's first and only number one song on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. Steve Jones from the Sex Pistols played guitar on the song. The riff was taken from the intro riff to the Kiss song "Shock Me".

In 2008, Todd was one of the four backing vocalists for the hard rock band Mötley Crüe for the gang vocal version of "Saints of Los Angeles".
