The South African College Schools (colloquially often known as “SACS”) is a public English medium primary and high education institution situated in Newlands – part of the Southern Suburbs region of Cape Town in the Western Cape province of South Africa. Founded in 1829, [1] it is the oldest continuously run school in South Africa.
The school was an offshoot of the South African College Schools. In 1932, it moved to its current location, between George and Knysna. The campus was taken over by PE Technikon from the Department of Agriculture in 1985. [1] The Algoa College of Education was situated in Struandale, approximately 25 kilometres (16 mi) away from Summerstrand.
