In 1944, workers at the railway in Romania founded a new club under the name ASM Târgu Mureș, later CS Târgu Mureș, a new club to gather the best players in the city together. In 1959 the club was revived under the name of Voinţa Târgu Mureș. [2] In September 1964, the club merged with ASA Târgu Mureș. [3]

Deda is an important railway junction, linking the CFR Line 405 to Târgu Mureș with the CFR Main Line 400 connecting Brașov and Dej. The commune is crossed by national road DN15 [ ro ] (on this section, part of European route E578 ), which runs from Turda in Cluj County to Târgu Mureș and on to Bacău in Western Moldavia .

The Târgu Mureș metropolitan area is a metropolitan area in Târgu Mureș, Romania.It was founded in 2005. It has a population of 209,532 as of the 2011 census. It is Romania's only metropolitan area where Hungarians form the largest ethnic group, with 98,593 people.

The A8 motorway (Romanian: Autostrada A8), also known as The Union Motorway (Romanian: Autostrada Unirii [2]) or the East-West Motorway (Romanian: Autostrada Est-Vest [3]) is a planned motorway in Romania, that will cross the Eastern Carpathians to connect the historical regions of Moldavia and Transylvania.
